Computer Technology Grade 9
Trip Slideshow
Due Date : Mon 23 Sept before 23:59 (before midnight)
== Task ==
Create a slideshow about the Grade 9 Trip, using actual photographs from
the trip.
== Example ==
Here is an
example slideshow (password = comptech)
This is not "outstanding". It would receive a grade 5 or 6, because
several of the photos are badly formatted and the text is unreadable.
Also, it is not long enough (you need at least 20 slides).
But it does demonstrate all the expected techniques.
== Expectations ==
- at least 20 slides, using at least 10 different
photos
- slides should load quickly (under 10 seconds) -
assuming the local network connection is working well -
otherwise you need to resize them to make them smaller
- nearly all the slides have TEXT written on them
- the text and photos tell a "story", so they should be in
a rational sequence that makes a sensible story.
The story need not be "true" - it can be fictional if you wish.
- slides fit properly on the screen and are completely and clearly
visible without scrolling or zooming
- TEXT must be clearly readable and should not cover up too
much of the photo.
- FILTERS (effects) are used on may slide to make the presentation
interesting/exciting/surprising/mysterious.
- The whole presentation should be interesting rather than boring -
use text and filters to make it more interesting.
- If you use any photos other than the ones provided by the teacher,
you should ask for permission from the teacher before using them.
== Requirements ==
Violating any of the following requirements
will result in a failing grade.
- The finished slide-show is posted on WIX,
on a page that is PASSWORD PROTECTED.
If you cannot use WIX, get permission from the
teacher to post the slideshow somewhere else.
- No student names appear in the slide-show -
this is forbidden by school policy, as well as
being a requirement of good etiquette in the Internet
(your own name will appear in the credits).
- There is nothing in the slide-show - no words or pictures -
that would be annoying or offensive to anyone, especially
people who appear in the pictures.
- There is a TITLE page at the beginning and a CREDITS page
at the end. The CREDITS page must contain the names of
the photographers, as well as your name as the creator of the show,
as well as the names of all software (tools) that were used
== Tools and Techniques ==
Your slideshow should demonstrate the following techniques:
- ALL photos have been resized to a standard size, e.g. 800x600 or
1000x750
- a variety of filters/effects were used in many slides
- TEXT was used in all slides
- at least one slide was created from a photo with an extra "clip"
pasted in,
like the banjo player in the sample slide-show
- at least one slide show has something that was erased or smudged
to make it invisible
You may use any tools that you wish (DrawIt, ipiccy, photoshop, Gimp,
etc),
but you must list all the tools used on the Credits page.
